Xcelerate Announces Notice of Allowance for U.S. Patent Application Covering Surgical Tool with Targeting Guidance

Xcelerate Announces Notice of Allowance for U.S. Patent Application No. 18/187,352, titled “Surgical Tool with Targeting”

MAULDIN, SC / September 16, 2026 / Xcelerate Inc. (OTC: XCRT) today announced that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for U.S. Patent Application No. 18/187,352, titled “Surgical Tool with Targeting Guidance.”

The Notice of Allowance represents an important milestone in the continued development of Xcelerate’s intellectual property portfolio and follows the Company’s previously announced progress on its intellectual property/patent portfolio.

In addition to the U.S. application, international patent protection for the technology in Europe and China remains pending.

“I would like to thank Dr. Anja Glisovic for her years of research and development, without which Xcelerate would never have been able to achieve this important step toward our goal of Transforming Breakthrough Engineering into Scalable Medical Solutions. I would also like to thank Dr. Dilan Ellegala for his continued support and clinical input,” said Mike O’Shea, CEO of Xcelerate.

“Xcelerate’s model is to bridge breakthrough engineering and clinical care by advancing protected technologies toward practical MedTech applications. This patent is aligned with that strategy: an engineering-led optical and sensing architecture designed for integration into real surgical products.”

A Technology Platform with Broad Potential Applications

This patent represents a technology platform rather than a single surgical-tool configuration, with potential applicability across a broad range of environments, including:

  • Minimally invasive and difficult-to-access surgical procedures.
  • Orthopedic, dental, and other powered-instrument applications.
  • Navigation-enabled and robot-assisted surgical platforms.
  • Procedures in which a first-person working view, target indication, or measured approach distance could complement existing imaging.
  • Integration with established image-guided workflows rather than replacement of external imaging.

The architecture may be particularly suited to established surgical-tool, navigation, and robotic-surgery companies seeking to add differentiated sensing and guidance capabilities to existing powered-instrument families.

Xcelerate has begun the process of identifying potential strategic partners that may assist in transitioning the technology toward practical use.

“This milestone further strengthens our intellectual property portfolio and supports our strategy of identifying opportunities where protected engineering technologies can be developed into practical healthcare applications,” added O’Shea.
